This Montero is being offered well below book value due to some known issues (mostly cosmetic/electrical). My wife and I have owned this for about six years, and have put roughly 70,000 miles on it. It has been a fairly decent vehicle for towing but we have recently upgraded to a newer SUV. It would work well as a work truck at this point or for hauling. THE GOOD: All of the seals have been replaced a few years ago, it doesn't leak any oil (but it does burn oil) the rear brakes have been completely redone this year, it has a brand new battery, the engine runs great. This vehicle is fairly reliable and I would trust it to tow our covered trailer hundreds of miles. THE BAD: The interior is not in good shape, there are some leaks in the windshield seal and so it has some interior moisture issues. It has been our work truck the last few years so it needs a good interior cleaning. The electrical system has some issues in it so the turn signals and some of the gauges don't work correctly (intermittently). THE UGLY: The front windshield is cracked, the back windshield is shattered with tape holding the window in place. It has some rust and some other issues but is average for the age of the vehicle.
