Porsche 968

Hard to find Speed Yellow 6-speed 968 cabriolet. We bought the car in 2001. The previous owner was the owner of a repair shop. According to his story, it was his personal car but he just didn t drive it enough and decided to sell it, much like my situation now. He had bought the car in 1999 from an insurance company with a theft recovery title with about 13,000 miles on the car. The car had not been in an accident but had been stolen and the interior and wheels had been stripped. Most everything was replaced with original Porsche parts. As far as I can tell everything is per spec with the following exceptions: The original color was green and he painted it Speed Yellow. He did a very nice job and there is no trace of green on/in/or anywhere on the car. The seats are premium leather seats that were not stock on the 95 968. I m not sure they were available in 1995, they may be a year or so newer. The wheels are five spoke Turbo wheels that I don t think were available in 1995. They are (in my opinion) MUCH nicer than the stock 968 wheels. The stereo he put in, which he was very proud of, is a Sony Xploid system with a multidisc changer, 7 subwoofer built into the rear deck, amps mounted in the trunk, etc. If I were to start putting money into this car, I think updating this would be where I would start. The speaker in the driver side door panel has a short and is currently disconnected. The rear window of the 968 is plastic and the window is a bit foggy and it has a crack in the upper passenger side corner. Since we ve had the car we ve had one small fender bender but all that was required was a new front bumper. It didn t even seem that bad but it cracked the bumper.
